I have watched the presidential primaries quite closely and so far so good. What is America's primary color as a people and nation? Nobody is crazy about politics here, and to me it is a forever swing between hope and disappointment. But that is fascinating, isn't it. I mean the swing. The tension created by all the thrills and spills, once every four years, promises a new beginning at every turn. In any other country, the circus is either unavailable such as in China or downright boring like in many European countries. This year even the business of choosing the main candidates for the top job is just as interesting. This, in the past, would have been done behind closed doors or with a limited franchise to conclude in a few weeks of campaigning outside the mainstream. Not this time. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, by contrast, have spent well over a year to ride through it—and that was just to get high enough for the final coaster ride of the ultimate five months. Great.
